Born in the San Francisco Bay area, Plant grew up first in the Virginia suburbs of Washington DC and then later the Seattle area before making his way to Hawaii to chase his athletic dreams and graduate from college.

Tom started his professional career in the Aloha state working on a wild political campaign and then for a broadcast media company before moving to Washington DC. There he worked on Capitol Hill before moving across the Potomac River to the Pentagon and finally later in life to the Rocket city of Huntsville, Alabama to pursue coaching and consulting. 

These adventures and experiences shaped a life forged by embracing challenges, interests, causes, service, and connectivity.
